November 4, 2020 - Phoenix, AZ - Known for building sustainable gardens and programs in struggling communities throughout Maricopa County, is upping their efforts to continue helping those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. Refrigerated trucks were purchased to safely transport and re-distribute perishable donations to food insecure communities throughout Phoenix.

Fresh Food Collaboration recently announced in August 2020 the extension of the COVID-19 food program through the end of 2020. In April, the program began with founder Mike McMahon of Urban Farming Education and publisher Dorie Morales of Green Living Magazine. The Food Distribution Program has now served over 330,000 pounds of fresh food to those in need through October 2020. Each emergency food box includes shelf-stable food, fresh produce, meat, and other non-meat protein.
