UFE’s Kim Rillero is working with Professor Pete (AKA Peter Rillero, Ph.D.) on implementing and evaluation the Sowing Scientific Seeds unit. Arizona State University preservice teachers, in a science methods class, are prepping their soil for planting radish seeds. Pairs of students are assigned to each cell, and they use half for their selected treatment and half for the control group. The unit helps learners develop deeper understandings of control group experiments, independent and dependent variables, data analysis, communication, and of course gardening.
